Lee Parks' writing style is direct and down-to-earth. He easily explains complex ideas about the physics and techniques of riding motorcycles with smoothness and confidence. I especially like the drills that he includes in his book, so that you can practice many of the ideas presented, in a controlled environment. I highly recommend this book! This book has everything from riding techniques to spiritual aspects of riding to suspension and chassis set ups.
I am still waiting for the snow to melt so I can start working on the drills posted in this book! Although this isn't the most informative review, lets just say I have bookmarks and highlighted sentences all throughout this book, it looks like I have studied it more than my college books! Total Control is an excellent learning resource for beginners. It covers so many topics, many that many newbies don't think about, but are very important for learning to ride.
For example, the book covers ergonomics and how to do simple things to improve comfort and performance such as adjusting your levers up front to reduce wrist soreness, as well as adjusting foot rests and levers. If you're just new to riding, this is definitely one route to go about learning about riding. Terrific book, I would recommend it to any new rider. Unique perspectives about the essence of riding with superb technical analysis make this a valuable reference.

Come on. If you ride a sport, sport tour, or adventure tour motorcycle, this book should be in your library. This is my second copy, I passed the first on to my nephew as a gift so he could learn to ride better and safer. I heard about this book from motojitsu on youtube. I rode dirt bikes as a teenager but never a road bike so this book has been exceptional in getting me up to speed. Thanks Lee!
